May 3, 2026 (Bernama) -- Behind every number is a journalist or media worker who was killed while doing their job. In 2025, the killing of journalists and media workers reached the highest level ever recorded by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), with many killed while reporting from conflict zones.
This World Press Freedom Day, we look at what this record toll says about the growing dangers facing the press, from Gaza remaining the deadliest place for journalists to drone attacks emerging as a continuing and growing threat.
