KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Two years since Israel began its genocidal assault on Gaza, the numbers defy comprehension - tens of thousands killed, entire families erased, and a generation of children left orphaned, amputated, or starved. Behind every figure lies a name, a story, and a life that once was.
Over 67,139 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 19,450 children. Gaza’s doctors, journalists, aid workers - those who worked to save and document lives - have been systematically targeted. More than 2,700 families no longer exist in Gaza’s civil registry.
Hunger and disease are being used as weapons, with Israel’s illegal blockade cutting off food, medicine, and water to over two million people. By the end of September 2025, more than 640,000 Palestinians will have faced catastrophic famine levels.
Yet, the true toll is far higher than what’s recorded. Thousands remain buried beneath the rubble, uncounted, unnamed.
This is not a war between equals. It is the deliberate destruction of an entire people under occupation - carried out in full view of the world.
As Gaza enters its third year under siege, silence is complicity. Memory is resistance.
Let us remember every life lost, every voice silenced, and every child who deserved a future.
