KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- It's a wrap for the Paris 2024 Paralympics!
Southeast Asian (SEA) countries at this year's Paralympics put up a strong showing, winning a combined 53 medals (11 gold, 22 silver and 20 bronze).
Malaysia has improved its overall paralympic medal standing after winning five medals at Paris (two gold, two silver and one bronze) and is now ranked second place behind Thailand. Thanks to its athletes, it now has a total of 21 Paralympic medals.
Before the Games in Paris, Malaysia stood at third place behind Thailand and Indonesia.
Thailand retains its position at the top after its athletes won a whopping 30 medals at Paris. It now has 117 medals - becoming the best performing SEA country at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Indonesia has dropped to third after winning 14 medals at Paris (one gold, eight silver and five medals), bringing its total medal count to 41. Though it has more medals compared to Malaysia, Indonesia has altogether less gold medals (Malaysia has eight gold to Indonesia’s seven).
Brunei, Cambodia and Timor-Leste have yet to win any medals at the Paralympics.
